If you weren’t aware it is National Diabetes Awareness Day!  Although I am incredibly fortunate to not have anyone in my life who suffers from Diabetes I feel compelled to spread the message.  

Type 2 Diabetes is primarily a life-style related illness and the risk of becoming diabetic can be EASILY reduced with just 30 minutes a day of MOVING.  

Regular walking for at least 30 minutes per day, for example, has been shown to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by 35-40%.

So if you know of someone who is at risk of developing this scary disease, maybe your parents, siblings, friends, aunts or uncles, then get them moving!  Take them on a hike, a bike-ride, to a dance class, a stroll around the mall, whatever it may be!  Maybe that is all it will take to keep your loved ones diabetes free 🙂
