    Hey! Love your site! I’m interested in pursuing a paleo lifestyle! I have seen various types of challenges, such as Whole30 and 30 Day Paleo Challenge. Do you have any suggestions on those? Which one to try?

    Hi Rachel! I stumbled on to your site trying to figure out how to bake a sweet potato. As my potatoes were cooking, I read your website and I love it! I would love to start a paleo lifestyle! I think it is just what I need. I had weight loss surgery (gastric sleeve) 1.5 years ago and I lost a lot at first, but then it stopped and I haven’t lost weight in 9 months! I was a vegan before but I have incorporated fish, fowl and Greek yogurt for more protein. I am finding it impossible to stop eating sweets, now. Can you help me get started?

      Carrie, glad you found me and are looking into paleo 🙂 My biggest recommendation would be to go cold turkey with sweets with a Whole30 or 21 Day Sugar Detox (google them to learn more)! The detox period is not the most fun and you will definitely crave some sweets but after you get past that hump it is SO freeing not being controlled by sweet cravings! Now when I crave sweets I have a couple squares of 85% dark chocolate or some berries with coconut milk. Occasionally I make paleo treats but try to keep my sugar to a minimum as I have so much more energy and feel better without excess sugar! Hopefully this helps 🙂
